The Honorable Cynthia Newman was born Cynthia Stair Dalrymple on March 24, 1922, in Minneapolis, MN to John Dalrymple and Bernice Barber. John Dalrymple was a prominent North Dakota bonanza farmer. Cynthia had a brother, John and sister, Anne.

Thoughts
We will always cherish the memories of Cynthia, so full of life, so much fun to be with, so interesting and curious. We love her dearly and all of her family. We will miss her, but at the same time, realize she lived a full and wonderful life which she shared with all around her. What a beautiful person to have known and shared life with.

I am so sorry for your loss. I only met your mom a few times, but Stair told me so many stories I can relate to the wonderful tributes made to her.

Cynthia Newman was a motivating and organizing force in the Virginia Federation of Republican Women and on the local level for the George Mason Republican Women. She was always available with advice and perspective and we have missed her participation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Cynthia's family.
